You know when something just quietly becomes part of your routine?
Our anti-choke slip lead has become this for me.
Don't get me wrong I still love a proper collar and matching lead. A tweed set is a non negotiable piece of our dogs wardrobes and my go to set In towns, on holidays and popping round the shops. They look smart and I like being able to grab a collar quickly if I need to.
But ... when we’re heading to the fields, it’s the rope slip lead that ends up in my pocket every single time. It’s just easy.
On to cross a road. Off once we’re through the gate. Back on to pass livestock.
No clips. No cold fingers trying to find a D ring. Just slip it on and carry on walking. And because it’s lightweight and flexible, it folds up and sits in my coat pocket without me even noticing it’s there. (It also means I can keep my hands warm in my pockets)
For dogs that dive through brambles or squeeze through hedges, sometimes a traditional collar just doesn't fit the bill. With a slip lead, It feels simple and safe.

What Makes Tweed & Tether Slip Leads Different?
Slip leads can get a bit of grief and I do understand why. Like any bit of kit, it depends how it’s used. Even a standard collar and lead can be harsh in the wrong hands. That's why we designed ours with an anti-choke adjustable ring, soft supple premium rope and solid brass hardware for a timeless finish.
The anti-choke slip lead lets you control how tight the loop can close. You can set it so it behaves more like a normal collar and lead with no tightening at all. Or you can adjust it in slightly so it gives a gentle pressure and release, the key word is adjustable. You decide how it works for your dog.
If a child is holding the lead for a moment, you can slide the ring back and remove that training element completely. If you’re working on loose lead walking, you can adjust it again. It gives flexibility without needing different equipment.
I’m no dog trainer. But I’ve spent enough years walking and training my own dogs and learning what works in real life. And in real life, especially in the countryside, this has been the lead that makes everything feel that bit easier.
